About Us
Something For Everyone!
lhenthen , MHDR is a full weekend of hoops, flow, and fun. The weekend kicks off on Thursday night with a welcome meeting and general hoop shenanigans. Workshops run throughout the weekend and offer lots of different hoop and auxiliary activities to try, so plan on spending at least a few hours each day exploring and playing with your body and hoop.
Thursday night is for catching up with old (and new) friends and setting up camp, but by Friday night everyone is pumped for our amateur showcase and the first fire circle of the weekend.
On Saturday, you’ll get to see the Instructor Spectacular, watch the Unicorn Award presentation, and then we’ll once again open the fire circle for the evening.
Everyone takes a little extra time moving on Sunday morning, so many people enjoy a little relaxation and getting to know each other before heading into workshops for the day.
Throughout the weekend you’ll meet movement artists from all over the state (and beyond!), learn dozens of new tricks, and see things you’ve never seen before. Each year, attendees are stunned by the little surprises and bits of wonder that are found at MHDR.
Bring a friend or come by yourself. Either way, just be here for the best weekend of the summer.

I was surprised at how deep a hooping journey can be for me. I mean, I’m a hooper, so I know it’s deep, I know it’s endless, I know it’s powerful, but I saw things at the retreat that I never saw before, that went way beyond my wildest comprehension, things I could never have imagined. I felt like I was taken to a whole other planet, a whole other universe. The things I saw just blew my mind. It’s so powerful that I can’t even comprehend it just yet.
