The Michigan Hoop & Dance Retreat is back for its 11th annual celebration, offering a weekend of creativity, connection, and flow in the heart of Michigan’s natural beauty. Open to hoop and dance enthusiasts of all levels, this vibrant retreat features workshops led by seasoned instructors from all facets of the movement arts.
Kicking off Thursday night with a warm welcome and playful “hoop shenanigans,” the weekend unfolds with a dynamic schedule of workshops, performances, and community activities. Friday night amps up the energy with an amateur showcase and the first fire circle of the event. Saturday brings the dazzling Instructor Spectacular and the coveted Unicorn Award, capped off by another enchanting fire circle under the stars.
Sunday offers a slower start, perfect for reflection and relaxation, before diving back into workshops and playtime. Throughout the weekend, you’ll meet movement artists from near and far, discover new tricks, and make connections that will last you a lifetime.

I was surprised at how deep a hooping journey can be for me. I mean, I’m a hooper, so I know it’s deep, I know it’s endless, I know it’s powerful, but I saw things at the retreat that I never saw before, that went way beyond my wildest comprehension, things I could never have imagined.
